What is Capcom Town?

Capcom Town is a special digital tourist destination created to help celebrate Capcom's 40th anniversary.
You can view exhibits containing original artwork and game development resources for various Capcom titles, view some highlights of the company's 40-year history, and even play some of its most memorable games.
Be sure to explore every last corner of the site!

What can I do in Capcom Town?

Try clicking (or tapping) on the various buildings. You can read information about Capcom and also play some selected game titles. In addition, we plan to conduct regular surveys regarding Capcom and its games. Some buildings are still under construction, so please check back on a regular basis to see what's new.

View 40 years of Capcom history as well as development materials and original artwork for some of our most popular titles.

Play a selection of Capcom's retro games. We plan to continue adding titles to this section, so be sure to keep an eye out for more games to come.

CAPCOM ELECTIONS Capcom Elections

Where can I find the Capcom Elections (surveys)?

The castle with the green roof in the upper-left corner of Capcom Town serves as the Capcom Elections HQ.

What are the Capcom Elections (surveys)?

Capcom Elections are surveys that ask users various questions regarding Capcom and Capcom games. Special gifts are given to those who participate, so make sure to cast your vote. Thanks!

Can I vote more than once in each election?

Elections are limited to one vote per person for each Capcom Election.

Where can I claim my bonus gift for voting?

Information on how to claim your gift will be sent to the email address you enter when you vote.

Please note that if you make a mistake when entering your email address, you will not be able to receive this email. Also, please check your email settings and ensure that you can receive emails from "@captown.capcom.com."

How will the information I provide when voting be used?

We will use your email address to contact you regarding your gift for filling out the survey, as well as to study and analyze the usage status and trends of our various services.
We handle all personal information in accordance with the Capcom Town Privacy Policy.

Can I still cast my vote after the voting period has ended?

We're sorry, but we can no longer accept votes once the voting period has ended.

When are the elections held?

We plan to hold the Capcom Elections on a regular basis.
Please check the Latest News section of Capcom Town to ensure that you never miss an election.

I chose the wrong selection when voting in the election. Can I change my vote?

We're sorry, but votes cannot be changed once they are cast.
However, please note that there is no change to the gift content based on your vote.

MUSEUM Museum

Where can I find the Museum?

The Museum can be found in the mansion with the blue roof, located in the lower-left corner of Capcom Town.

What can I do in the Museum?

You can view exhibits containing original artwork and game development resources for various Capcom titles.
There is also an overview of Capcom's 40-year history.

The game I want to see is not being exhibited.

The Museum includes permanent displays for the following seven franchises: Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Devil May Cry, Mega Man, Ace Attorney, and Ghosts 'n Goblins.
We also plan to include other series and game titles as special exhibits in the future.

RETRO GAMES Retro Games

Where can I find the Retro Games corner?

The Retro Games corner can be found in the red arcade machine located in the upper-right corner of Capcom Town.

What can I do in the Retro Games corner?

The Retro Games corner lets you play some classic Capcom games for free in your web browser.

What are the controls for the retro games?

Please refer to the Retro Games page for information on the controls.
In addition, the controls for each game are included on their respective pages.

I am unable to play the games.

The games may not run properly depending on your device, browser, or other factors.
Therefore, try changing your operating environment and launch the game again.
Please note that even if you meet all of the necessary system requirements, we cannot guarantee all games are playable.

Can the games be played on a smartphone?

Yes, they can, but we recommend playing on a PC.
When playing on a smartphone, please hold the screen horizontally and set your device to landscape mode.

My smartphone heats up when I play a game.

Depending on the model and OS version of your smartphone, it may have difficulty playing these retro games.
If you experience any problems running the games, please stop playing and try using another device or PC.

How many playable titles are there?

We plan to add titles to the section on a regular basis.
Please check the Latest News section for the most up-to-date information on upcoming titles.

Are these games free to play?

Yes, these games can be played free of charge.
Note: You are responsible for any required internet, data, or connection fees.

Can I use external controllers such as gamepads?

Yes, you can use controllers with these games. Please note that although custom button configurations are supported, we cannot guarantee compatibility with all controllers. Thank you for your understanding. Please refer to your controller's manual for instructions on connecting it to your PC or smartphone.

Can I post gameplay videos to my social media accounts or livestream the footage?

This is not a problem as long as you follow the Capcom Video Policy.

Can I save my progress in the games?

With the exception of some titles that have an in-game save function, there is no function to save your progress during gameplay.

Do these games support two-player multiplayer or online play?

Certain titles will support local multiplayer for two players, but none of the titles feature online play. Thank you for your understanding.

Note: Two-player play requires the use of a keyboard and gamepad, or two gamepads in order to play.

Where can I find the Latest News section?

Look for the red "NEWS" sign located on top of the building in the lower-right corner of Capcom Town.

What kind of information can I find there?

We will post regular updates regarding Capcom Town content, such as upcoming Capcom Elections, election results, Museum exhibits and new retro games, as well as Capcom-related news, including announcements regarding new games and special events. As necessary, we will also post notifications regarding site maintenance, updates to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and other important information.

The site takes a long time to load.

If the site loads slowly, your device may not have enough memory or the sufficient specs to run it properly.
First, try closing any other apps and restarting your browser and then access the site again.

Can I disable the sound on the site?

You can either adjust the volume of your PC or smartphone, or, to turn the background music on or off within the site, click (or tap) on the speaker icon.

Can I change the display language of the site?

Capcom Town supports both Japanese and English. (As of June, 2023.)
To change the language, go to the bottom section of the menu located in the upper-right corner of the screen.
