Gamma, a robot created to protect peace in the world, is modified by Dr. Wily into an anti-Mega Man weapon in this entry into the series.
It also marked the first appearance of Mega Man's trusty robot canine companion, Rush.
The addition of the ability to slide expanded the exciting action gameplay even further. Proto Man, a mysterious character of unknown intentions also made his debut in this release's exciting story.
